About Me

I am an assistant professor of medicine, specialized in treating HIV/AIDS.  I am currently on the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, in the Institute of Human Virology.

I was born in London, England, and grew up in California (both north and south).  My father was from Sri Lanka, and my mother is American.  I am a typical American mutt – mixed in blood, and experience and outlook.

This blog was initially started to post photos of my travels to Africa and elsewhere, but it’s become a place to post random thoughts…now, mostly about our multinational family – English, American, Ethiopian!
